“I was born in Italy where I had specialized in historical building of Renaissance and Baroque viole da gamba as well as Medieval instruments since 1983. In 1994 I moved my atelier to Belgium where I'm currently living. I have also extended my research for reconstruction and reproduction of baroque cellos using not only a baroque set up but also baroque way of building them.

“Born in Prague, Petr Wagner studied cello at the Prague Conservatoire with Josef Chuchro. This was followed by studies in musicology at the Charles‘ University in Prague and at the Royal Holloway University of London. There he was introduced to viola da gamba by Richard Boothby, later continuing with Jaap ter Linden at the Akademie für alte Musik Dresden.

Les Amis du Clavecin (The Friends of the Harpsichord) is an association founded in 1991 by the Belgian harpsichordist Betty Bruylants. Its purpose is to foster people's knowledge and love of the harpsichord, an instrument which was extremely important in the history of western music for over three centuries.
