Workshops/Festivals 2012: (FR) Ensemble Enthéos: First Acadmy (Workshop) (9-15 jul 2012)
Location: Mirecourt (88), FR
“Enthéos is organizing its first Summer Academy to share the fruits of its research. It will focus on song and the Renaissance madrigal, two genres that help us discover the art of composers and French and Italian poets of the sixteenth century. This academy will highlight great composers who have benefited from the patronage of the great families of Lorraine as the dukes of Lorraine and Guise ... This repertoire is the subject of the next disc Entheos which is due out this fall. We will focus also works by Claudin de Sermisy which this year marks the 450th anniversary of his death. …
Instrumentalists and singers will address technical and stylistic elements as well as songs and embellished madrigals. It is in this repertoire where blossomed the search for virtuosity to not only impress the listener, but also to move him. The course is intended for amateur musicians of good level, students or professionals wishing to improve their knowledge of this repertoire. We welcome the public adult, emancipated teens and possibly accompanied children.“ (translation ed.)
