This year's workshop moves from Seattle Pacific University to Cornish College of the Arts as part of an expansion of the College's music department to encompass an early music program. 

“For this 35th edition, the organizers have decided to honour the cultural heritage of Berry and have chose Mic Baudimant as the associate performer, an ardent defender of the arts and traditions of Berry.

President of the Thiaulins de Lignères (association of traditional music and dance of Cher), Vice-President of the Association Française de l’Ane Grand Noir du Berry, Vice-President of l’Union for the Ressources Génétiques du Berry, members of the association “on the steps of the Maitres Sonneurs”, Mic Baudimant is also a storyteller, piper, “brioleux” (someone who sings songs to oxen while ploughing), singer and graduate of the first competition of the festival in 1976.

Theme "500 Years of Vespers" informs this year's EMA Early Music conference. Modeled as part scholarly symposium, part workshop, it focuses on the Monteverdi Vespers of 1610 and its chant and Renaissance ancestors.

“Experience the magnificence of Italian music in and around 1610, from the glories of St. Mark's Cathedral in Venice to the haunting spiritual cloisters of Milan, a golden age filled with the glorious sounds of centuries past.

A unique experience. Courses designed to allow participants an introduction to all early keyboard instruments as well as intensive study on the instrument of their choice. Basso continuo at the harpsichord and organ. Choir conducting.

The planning committee is now accepting proposals for papers with a preference for topics on:

• - The early clavichord from first iconographical documents to the earliest extant instruments (organology and repertoire)
• - The pedal clavichord, from its origins to the XVIIIth century
• - The clavichord in the XIXth century

“Early Music Week at Pinewoods explores music from that vibrant musical center, the heartbeat of Italian polychoral music, home of famous music publishers, and inspiration to courts and chapels located far beyond the Veneto region.

“The Society for Seventeenth-Century Music will hold its Nineteenth Annual Conference from Thursday through Sunday, 7-10 April 2011, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, hosted by the School of Music at the University of Minnesota. Proposals on all aspects of seventeenth-century music and its cultural contexts are welcome. 

Players of recorders, viols, sackbuts, shawms, crumhorns, lutes, harps, guitars etc. are more than welcome.

Featuring clinician Larry Lipkis

Larry Lipkis is a Professor of Music and Composer-in-Residence at Moravian College. He directs the early music ensembles at the college (the Collegium Musicum, the Monteverdi Ensemble, and the Baroque Ensemble) and also teaches music theory, contemporary music, and composition. 

The Over the Water Hurdy-Gurdy Festival brings together hurdy-gurdy players, builders, and teachers for intensive instruction, jamming, fellowship, and good food. Classes cover melodic techniques, rhythm, repertoire, and instrument setup and maintenance, with instruction tailored for beginning through advanced players.

"The Legacy of the Baroque": An intensive course primarily focusing on the High Baroque, the Rococo and the early Classical Era

This programme will offer a unique opportunity to explore Baroque and early Classical Music and Dance with some of the world’s leading performers and scholars of this repertoire.

Although this is a programme for period-instrument players, advanced-level musicians with limited experience on period instruments may also apply, and appropriate instruments (flutes, oboes, violins, cellos, violas da gamba & keyboard instruments) will be available.

“The Compleat Singer: Bringing Movement, Passion and Projection to the interpretation of baroque vocal music” 

Participation in ‘The Compleat Singer’ offers a unique opportunity to explore & experiment in all aspects of the Baroque singer’s development. The setting is intimate, the attention is intensely individual and the results are completely inspirational. This is a laboratory, not an audition!

The course includes Masterclasses, Coachings, Private Lessons, Movement Classes and Discussions.

This year’s Festival has a special emphasis on Music by Monteverdi, to celebrate the 400th Anniversary of his Vespers of 1610: The Vespers, Staged Theatrical Works, Concerted Madrigals, Instrumental Music, and more! Also this summer: the French Baroque, the Rococo and the early Classical era, with works by Bach & sons, Mozart & Beethoven.

“Commemorating the 500th anniversary of Antonio de Cabezón's birth, the 10th International Symposium on Spanish Keyboard Music “Diego Fernández” will be held in the Parador of Mojácar, Almería, Andalusia, from 8 th through 10 th October 2010, as part of FIMTE 2010: the 11th International Festival of Spanish Keyboard Music. The festival shall feature both mainstream and fringe concerts as well as various courses and exhibitions.
