"Aapo Häkkinen (1976) began his musical education as a chorister at Helsinki Cathedral. He took up the harpsichord at the age of 13, studying with Elina Mustonen and Olli Porthan (organ) at the Sibelius Academy in his native Helsinki. From 1995 to 1998 he studied at the Amsterdam Sweelinck Conservatoire with Bob van Asperen, and from 1996 to 2000 with Pierre Hantaï in Paris. He was also fortunate to enjoy the generous guidance and encouragement of Gustav Leonhardt.
Immediately after obtaining his soloist's diploma in 1998, Aapo Häkkinen won second prize and the prize of the Belgian radio and television VRT-3 at the prestigious Bruges International Harpsichord Competition. He was also awarded the Norddeutscher Rundfunk special prize Musikpreis 1997 for his interpretations of Italian music. “Miriam Gómez-Morán made her first public appearance at the age of twelve. Since then, she has performed extensively on the piano, the fortepiano and the harpsichord in various countries, such as France, Hungary, Germany, Canada, United States, United Kingdom, Italy and Spain. She has also recorded for radio and television in these countries. As a contemporary music performer, she has been a member of “Proyecto Gerhard”, with which she has recorded a CD for the Ministry of Culture, and "Plural Ensemble". With this latter group she has recorded a CD of works by Fabián Panisello for the label "Col legno". She has also worked with other orchestras such as Bilbao Symphony Orchestra and the Orchestra of the Comunidad de Madrid.
From 1996 to 1998 she taught at the Music School in Villacañas (Toledo). In november 2000 she took up a professorship at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Salamanca, Spain's leading musical institution. She is frequently invited to give masterclasses in various institutions, among them the Aula de Música of the University of Alcalá de Henares.
She has written articles for specialized magazines such as "La Montaña Mágica", "Quodlibet" and "Revista de Espiritualidad". Her discography includes a CD with works by Liszt (piano solo) for the label Verso (VRS 2014) and two CDs with music for natural horn and fortepiano with Javier Bonet for Arsis (one of them with Juan Pavía as guest artist).”

"Mitzi Meyerson was born into a musical family in Chicago, where she began her concert career at the age of seven. After completing her university and graduate studies in Chicago and Oberlin, she moved to London to co-found the ensemble Trio Sonnerie (with Monica Huggett and Sarah Cunningham), with whom she performed and recorded extensively.
Ms. Meyerson has released over fifty recordings, among them solo albums of Buxtehude, Duphly, the complete works of Forqueray and JKF Fischer, all to excellent critical acclaim. This last, entitled "Musicalischer Parnassus" (MDG), won the Diapason d'Or. Her recent releases include two double-CD sets of Georg Böhm and CB Balbastre (Glossa); both productions were awarded the prestigious Deutsche Schallplatten Kritik prize for the best recordings of the year on an international level. She also released a solo recital of mixed repertoire for the Musik Instrumenten Museum in Berlin, four complete Ordres from the 4th Book of Francois Couperin (Glossa), and a collaboration with Nigel Kennedy and the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra (EMI). In addition to her solo work, Mitzi Meyerson is the founder of "The Bottom Line", a variable ensemble devoted to repertoire for bass and continuo instruments, which appears in major festivals across Europe. The most popular form of "The Bottom Line" is the Berliner Cembalo Ensemble, a group of three to five harpsichords, which has a continually growing repertoire. Last student of Gustav Leonhardt, in 1997 she received her Concert and Teaching diplomas, after five years of study with this grand master of the harpsichord. “Léon Berben was born in 1970 in Heerlen (the Netherlands), but has been living for several years in Cologne (Germany). He studied harpsichord and organ in Den Haag (Koninklijk Conservatorium) and Amsterdam (Sweelinck Conservatorium) with Rienk Jiskoot, Bob van Asperen, Ton Koopman and Gustav Leonhardt, and finished his studies with solo-diploma for both instruments.
Since March 2000 he has been the harpsichordist with Musica Antiqua Köln (Reinhard Goebel). As such he has given concerts all over the world, travelling throughout Europe, Asia, North- and South America and has recorded several CDs for Deutsche Grammophon / Archiv Produktion. Musica Antiqua Köln dissolved at the end of November 2006, and Léon Berben has since focussed his work on chamber music and, increasingly, on the solo-repertoire.

"Viviana Sofronitski began her music studies in the family, following in the footsteps of her father, Vladimir Sofronitsky, who was a distinguished Russian pianist. After earning a DMA from the Moscow Conservatory she came to study Early Music in Oberlin, US. In 1990 she moved to Canada, where she performed with many musicians from the Toronto "Tafelmusik orchestra". In 1999 Viviana Sofronitzki received historical fortepiano and harpsichord performance degrees from the Royal Conservatory in Den Haag.
Viviana Sofronitski was awarded the First Prize at the "Bach Tage Berlin" competition, as well as main prizes at the "Musica Antiqua" competition in Brugge. “Václav Luks (1970) fully developed his passion for early music while studying at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Switzerland, studying keyboard performance in the studios of
J.–A. Bötticher and J. B. Christensen. Among his activities there was the co-founding of the wind octet Amphion, and he played principal horn at the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin.
After returning to the Czech Republic, in 2005 he transformed the ensemble Collegium 1704 into a full-time baroque orchestra, and he founded Collegium Vocale 1704. He has earned renown in the world of early music not only as an outstanding player of orchestral and chamber music on the harpsichord and French horn, but also foremost as an exceptionally conductor gifted with unerring intuition and a feel for the interpretation of the works of such old masters as J. "Trudelies Leonhardt, the sister of the harpsichordist Gustav Leonhardt, is of Dutch-Austrian parentage and comes from a family of musicians.
She studied with Johannes Röntgen, Anthon van der Horst and Nelly Wagenaar at the Amsterdam Conservatory where she was awarded the Soloist's Diploma with distinctions as well as the Elisabeth Everts prize. She also worked in Paris with Yves Nat and Marguerite Long.

"The Moir Duo, Ronald and Ruth Moir, took their undergraduate education as pianists at the University of Manitoba. Grants from both the Canada Council as well as the Manitoba Arts Council allowed them to undertake 3 years of study in the UK. They studied with Joan Davies (a pioneer in the reintroduction of the historic fortepiano) who performed regularly at the Colt Collection and at the Hazelmere Festival organized by Carl Dolmetsch. "I began studying piano with my mother at age three on the Niagara Peninsula (Canada). I later studied violin with Artur Garami and keyboard with Eric Dowling. My childhood inspiration was a series of articles about Vladimir Horowitz in Etude Magazine.
By the age of sixteen I was an Associate of the Royal Conservatory of Toronto. I was introduced to the harpsichord and Fenton House by Thurston Dart in London England, to gamba making by Juliet Beamont of Cambridge, and to the baroque violin by Alice Harnoncourt.
For a variety of reasons, I took time out from a music career to raise five wonderful children: a minister, a teacher, a scientist, a guitar maker and a writer. When they were grown up, I cashed in my pension and returned to my music.
Originally, I planned to record all copyright-free works for the harpsichord in General MIDI format for free distribution on the Internet. If you enjoy the trip, who cares if you get there! But, something happened on the way - the trip got nasty.
