The BCW contains discussions and detailed discographies of each cantata and other vocal works, performers and general topics. The BCW also contains texts and translations, scores, music examples, articles and interviews, and over 6,800 short biographies of performers of Bach's vocal works and players of his keyboard and lute works, as well as of poets & composers associated with Bach. There are also other relevant resources such as the Lutheran church year, database of chorale texts & melodies and their authors, detailed discographies of many Bach's instrumental works (solo keyboard, lute, Art of Fugue, Musical Offering, etc.) and piano transcriptions and their performers, reviews and discussions of Bach’s instrumental works, books and movies on Bach, terms and abbreviations, schedule of concerts of Bach's vocal works, Bach Festivals & Cantata Series, guide to Bach tour, Bach in arts and memorabilia, thousands of links to other relevant resources. “Founded in 1996, the bookshop is established in the historical district of the old Lyons, by the banks of the Saône. Since year 2001 it is located 25 quai de Bondy.

In this place of music and meetings, secondhand music scores and books may be found along with a collection from the 18th to 21th century.

The stock is very important and regularly supplied but it is therefore impossible for me to reference all the works that are stocked. You will find after a catalog presenting the latest acquisitions.

"In twenty-eight years we have built up a collection of about 700 titles which cover practically every aspect of musical literature and of various repertoires stretching from the 15th to the 19th centuries and even the 20th century including:

The works listed in the present catalogue have been chosen for their practical values as well as for their rarity. Two or more works have occasionally been printed together in the same volume, when their subjects were related, with the aim of reducing their price. Forewords more or less developed (in English and in French) have been supplied, for the manuscripts series especially, to explain the choice of the work or the edition, to facilitate its use and to provide information on the author and his work.

“January 2010 marked the beginning of the Europeana Regia project, which will digitise 874 rare and precious manuscripts from the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, with the collaboration of five major libraries located in four countries and the support of the European Commission. The project is expected to run for thirty months (January 2010 to June 2012) and will draw together three collections of royal manuscripts that are currently dispersed and which represent European cultural activity at three distinct periods in history: the Biblioteca Carolina (8^th and 9^th centuries), the Library of Charles V and Family (14^th century) and the Library of the Aragonese Kings of Naples (15^th and 16^th centuries). “Before starting with this database, I had indices of only a few manuscripts and a whole series of concordances lying scattered around. Then Markus Lutz sent around his compilation of Weiss' works with concordances, with the request to check the concordances, and the spark was generated to put some system in the information I had lying around, using Markus' info as the starting point, amplifying the project to other non-Weiss manuscripts. First of all, I chose a manuscript-based setup, and for each manuscript in my possession I listed the contents, along with the key in which the pieces were given. Where present, the manuscript-own page numbering was followed, while for others and ad-hoc numbering was applied. ..“

The database of the Goettingen Bach Catalogue has been maintained by the Bach-Archiv in Leipzig since August 2008.

In addition to database records for all known Bach sources, detailed descriptions of manuscripts along with handwriting samples and watermark tracings will be provided by nearly every German library.
