"The Winnipeg Early Music Society is a group of people of all ages interested in the music of the Medieval, the Renaissance and the Baroque periods. * It gives members the opportunity to play or sing in an ensemble setting. * Members have the opportunity to meet other players, and are encouraged to form smaller ensembles if they desire. * Members learn more about Early Music by; attending workshops, attending clinics, and learning from the expertise of more experienced players. * Members have the chance to perform for each other at reading sessions, in recitals and other venues. * WEMS provides information on what is going on in Early Music in Winnipeg through a newsletter that reviews what members have been doing and lists future Early Music concerts in Winnipeg. * WEMS has a music library for use by its members.
