"Fifteen managers and artistic directors of Early Music Festivals in Central Europe met on 14 and 15 October 2000 in Bratislava and they decided to establish the Central European Festivals Early Music Association or CEFEMA. They signed the 'Bratislava Document', thus confirming this intention.
Six different Central European countries were represented:
the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia.
In anticipation of the formal establishment of CEFEMA, the co-signatories separated in national groups and each group appointed a National Representative.
