Ready for a great Opera!

“The big O - symbol of the 2012 Poiesis Festival and of the great Opera - includes four musical events prepared by Marco Mencoboni for Friday 25 May, the opening day the of the 6th edition. The festival will start with a short prelude: 30 musicians, located in surprising spots, will play together when the bell of the square in Fabriano will toll. But the main show will be Ad Vesperas, an impressive vocal and instrumental music concert featuring Claudio Merulo's posthumous masses for 12 voices, brought back to life after four centuries of oblivion by the Cantar Lontano ensemble in the beautiful setting of the Fabriano cathedral. Works by Orlando di Lasso and Diego Ortiz will follow, in a polyphonic triumph made possible by 30 musicians conducted by Marco Mencoboni. Two more events will bliss your ears …
The Cantar Lontano Schola Gregoriana led by Mauro Borgioni will perform liturgical Gregorian Chant. At the same time, but with other notes and in a different setting, you will be able to enjoy a hilarious percussion performance by the Riciclato Circo Musicale. Click here to join the events and read the programs.

We remind those who cannot join the Poiesis Fabriano Festival that the show Ad Vesperas - featuring the Cantar Lontano ensemble conducted by Marco Mencoboni - will be available in HQ streaming from around 6:45 pm on www.cantarlontano.com. Tune in!”
