Competitions 2015: (UK) Society of Recorder Players (SRP) -- 2015 Moeck/Society of Recorder Players Solo Recorder Playing Competition Results

News from the Society of Recorder Players (SRP)

"Congratulations to Laura Schmid, winner of the 2015 Moeck/Society of Recorder Players Solo Recorder Playing Competition, the final of which was held at the Greenwich Early Music Festival on 13th November. Good wishes to all the competitors, and their accompanists, who gave brilliant performances of works dating from the 12th century to the present.  ..."

... The full results, decided by adjudicators Bart Spanhove, Maria Martinez Ayerza and Steven Devine, were as follows: 1st prize – Laura Schmid; 2nd prize – Lea Sobbe; 3rd prize – Sophia Schambeck; 4th prize – Silvia Berchtold."

About the competition --

"This Biennial Competition is organised by the Society of Recorder Players with Moeck UK

The aim is to encourage young players of talent, and to help them in their professional aspirations.

Competitors must show that they are able to sustain a full recital programme at a professional level.

The First Prize consists of a recital at the Greenwich International Festival of Early Music in the year following the Competition, together with a Cash Prize, presented at the recital. (donated by the Society of Recorder Players and Early Music Shop).

Other substantial cash prizes are awarded by the Society of Recorder Players.

The Competition is international and entries are welcomed from recorder players of a suitable standard who are under thirty years of age on 1st November in the year of the Competition. Previous winners are not eligible to enter."
