“The beauty of' (Grammy- nominated) Laura Pudwell’s instrument and the profundity of her delivery” has made her one of Canada’s most sought-after performers.  She is joined by The Registry Chamber Players’ co-artistic director Julie Baumgartel (baroque violin), Margaret Gay (baroque cello) and Lucas Harris (arch-lute) in an afternoon of frivolity, despair, unrequited love and … complimentary biscotti & coffee. These four talented musicians and friends will perform an all-Italian programme with works by Corelli, Handel (he ate a lot of pasta and drank red wine … oh, and these songs are in Italian, so he’s an honorary Italian) Caldara, Porpora and Bononcini.  The music is as rich and varied as Italian cuisine … tasty and satisfying.

The Registry Chamber Players is the new presenting partner in the Classics at The Registry series. One of the exciting initiatives of The Registry Chamber Players is the Master Class series, supported by Wilfrid Laurier University, taking place at the Registry Theatre directly after the concert. The audience is encouraged to stay and discover the world of basso continuo with our guest lutenist, Lucas Harris.   He will be working with the guitar class from WLU, and especially invites any players of plucked instruments and keyboard players to come and listen and learn more about the art of continuo playing.  Stay and experience the fun and creativity involved in turning a single bass line into an improvised chordal accompaniment!
