Books/Manuscript: (UK) Dance Books retail closing sale

Contributed by Admin on Jan 06, 2011 - 03:30 AM

Dear Customers, Colleagues, & Friends,

As many of you know, I've been in indifferent health for the last couple of years, and my doctors are now insisting that I must take life more easily. So, with enormous regret, I am closing the retail part of Dance Books and in future shall run the company solely as publishers. I have tried to find a buyer for the retail part of the company, but so far without success, so if there are any eccentric millionaires out there who've always dreamt of running an online dance bookselling company, do feel free to get in touch.

It's a big wrench for me, for I've been doing this job, and loving it, for more than 40 years; but, as the man said "these things shall be".

Authors, booksellers and distributors please note that this won't affect the publishing and distribution side of the business, which will proceed exactly as normal.

The GOOD NEWS is that we have a lot of back stock to clear and over the next few weeks we'll be reducing many items to half price or less. You'll find these clearly marked in our web site catalogue, or you can find the whole lot at: [2]

We'll be adding new items daily, so do check regularly to see what's on offer. But please bear in mind that many of these items are single copies, so it's very much first come, first served.

While the sale's going on we'll be running our normal service as usual. One of the things that won't be in the sale is the new DVD release of the Royal Ballet's 'La Bayadere', with Tamara Rojo, Marianela Nunez, and Carlos Acosta. You'll find this and other recent items at: [3]

Very best wishes,

David Leonard
Managing Director
Dance Books Ltd

Dear David:

It is certainly sad to hear of your health condition as well as the closing of the Dance Books online store. I wish to express my personal thanks for the service that you have provided to the community over the years, and, especially the service to the early music dance field. It is most appreciated indeed.

All of the very best of wishes with your health and looking forward to any contributions to the dance field yet to come.
