Books/Manuscript: (US) Handel's Beasts: Explained, Illustrated, Complete with Musick (News from San Francisco Classical Voice)

Contributed by Admin on May 06, 2011 - 04:20 PM

In Donna Leon's newly published Handel's Bestiary, she traces 12 of the composer’s animal references through history, mythology, and the specific arias featuring them.

Illustrated by German painter Michael Sowa, the book also includes a CD of the arias, recorded by Alan Curtis and Il Complesso Barocco.

Visit the San Francisco Classical Voice [2] for more on the short book review as well as more on the San Francisco classical music scene. Also visit Amazon [3] for the books availability.
