Workshops/Festivals 2008: (CA) Fredericton Baroque Music Festival (June 6-8, 2008) -- REVIEWED

"THANK YOU to all who attended, performed, worked for and supported “Of Friends and Foes”, the second annual Fredericton Baroque Music Festival. We could not have done it without you!

The festival opened o­n Friday night with “A Friendly Competition” in the form of rousing concerti by Handel and Vivaldi performed by the York Early Music Ensemble, which was directed from the violin by Katherine Moller. The soloists were Jonathan Addleman (harpsichord); Katherine Moller, Sari Tsuji, Angela Garwood, Sarah Liptay (violins); and Suzanne Bonnell-Burley (cello). ...
On Saturday morning, Jonathan Addleman gave a masterclass (something of a private lesson, but in public) and explained the principles of harpischord tuning and maintenance.

Seasons Baroque presented “The Seven Years' War: Music from 1756-1763” for the Saturday evening concert. Music ranged from British chamber music by Boyce, Abel, and Vincent, to a surprisingly light-hearted flute sonata by warlord Frederick the Great; ... "
