Early Music Concerts 2000-2009: (US) Clarion Orchestra to Play in BAM's Spring 2009 Production of Bach's St. Mat

Contributed by Admin on Dec 06, 2008

In April 2009, The Orchestra of the Clarion Music Society will perform in Sir Jonathan Miller’s beloved staging of Bach’s St. Matthew Passion at BAM. Following highly acclaimed and sold-out BAM engagements in 1997, 2001, and 2006, the production returns as part of BAM’s 2009 Spring Season.

This casual-dress, English-language production is directed by Sir Jonathan Miller and conducted by Paul Goodwin. The New York Observer described the production as “… the most exhilarating [and] most important musical and dramatic event to be seen hereabouts in some time…the greatest piece of sacred music ever composed has been made new again.”Clarion is honored to be a part of this thrilling production.
