“Intended to reveal the talents of tomorrow, the competition is open to international [voice] artists … and of any tessitura; it rewards the best vocal interpretations whose works are taken from the Baroque period repertoire.

The main objective … is to reveal still [up-and-coming] artists, to support them in their process as artists, to help them to take roots into the professional musical world.

This baroque voice competition, organized by the Festival de Froville is becoming one of the pillars of the development of the art of singing while pursuing its historic inscription in a high cultural place.

The competition takes place in three stages: preselection - semi-final - final

  1. The preselection is opened within the limits of 80 candidates.
  2. After a first selection made on the basis of supports such as the Cd or DVD, the selected candidates will sing, at semi-final stage, and perhaps, final stage …in front of a panel of [professional] judges chaired by Paul Agnew.
  3. The final programme will be different than the semi-final programme and the prize will be awarded on Sunday before a short concert.
