Early Music Concerts 2012-2013: (IT) TREBANTIQUAPASQUA - Alessandro Scarlatti

Contributed by harmoniamusicae on Mar 14, 2013

The Easter concert of TREBANTIQUA celebrates Alessandro Scarlatti with one of his vocal masterpieces: the Stabat Mater for 2 voices, 2 violins and continuo in the luscious setting of Trevi nel Lazio, the old, fascinating village in the mountains of Lazio home of the ancient Bonifazi pipe organ dating 1634. The program is completed by Scarlatti's flute concerto in c minor from his collection of 7 "sonate o concerti" expressely written for German flutist J.J.Quantz during Scarlatti's last year of life in Naples.
