From a recent Handel House newsletter
"Over the next couple of weeks London experiences some trouble with its tube network but Handel House will remain open for visitors and concert-goers.
The first event in February starts this evening with our annual Stanley Sadie Memorial Lecture taking place at the Royal Over-Seas League. We are delighted to have Handel scholar Ellen Harris who has travelled from the US for this event and she will explore the subject of Handel’s Mayfair neighbours.
February marks a special anniversary: Handel’s birthday. We celebrate with free admission to the museum so pop in and listen to musicians playing the harpsichord and catch the last day of exhibition The Triumph of Music Over Time where you will be able to hear the final chimes of a Clay Clock. ...
On 26 February we open our new exhibition She Was Despiséd: Handel and Susannah Cibber which will explore the life of this extraordinary singer, actress and friend of Handel. Handel specialist Helen Dymond will lead a study session on 1 March which will enlighten you on this fascinating subject full of dastardly characters.
And finally, we are excited to announce that our Charles Jennens exhibition has opened in Leicester, his home town, in Snibston Discovery Museum until March 2014."
