“The Centro Studi Opera omnia Luigi Boccherini (Onlus) of Lucca was established in November 2005 to carry out the editorial work relating to the complete works of the lucchese composer Luigi Boccherini. The choice of Lucca as a location is not by chance: Luigi Boccherini was born in Lucca, so it is the natural site on which to launch the Italian National Edition of Luigi Boccherini's Complete Works. FIMTE, the International Festival of Spanish Keyboard Music, has gained international reputation for the organization, promotion, study and publication of the rich heritage of Spanish keyboard music.
FIMTE is organizing a series of workshops intended to musicians who want to have an accomplished and up-to-date knowledge on Spanish Keyboard Music, by completing a study program in which different aspects of Spanish keyboard music will be dealt by well known scholars and performers.
This workshop focus on the performance of the sonatas-dances by Domenico Scarlatti and the eighteenth century Spanish keyboard music school. The methodological identification of these dances help us to understand its internal structure, gestural punctuation as well as other important issues -including tempo and accent- thus, giving a physical and choreographic dimension to its performance.
