“Jory Vinikour is recognized as one of the outstanding harpsichordists of his generation. A highly diversified career brings him to the world's most important festivals and concert halls as recital and concerto soloist, partner to several of today's finest singers, and as one of the most visible continuo performers. Born in Chicago, Jory Vinikour came to Paris on a scholarship from the Fulbright Foundation to study with Huguette Dreyfus and Kenneth Gilbert. First Prizes in the International Harpsichord Competitions of Warsaw (1993) and the Prague Spring Festival (1994) brought him to the public's attention, and he has since appeared in festivals and concert series throughout much of the world.

Its name comes from Silvestro Ganassi (1492 -?), One of the most important theorists of the Renaissance, who also has the merit of being the first to write a treatise devoted exclusively to the recorder: The Fontegara, printed in Venice in 1535.

Winner of the 1998 Bankers' Trust Pyramid Award, Concanentes went on to be selected for the 1999-2000 Classics West Business & Arts Partnership scheme. In 1999 the ensemble appeared in the International Early Music Network Young Artists' Competition and was selected for the late Yehudi Menuhin's Live Music Now! scheme. “The Centro Studi Opera omnia Luigi Boccherini (Onlus) of Lucca was established in November 2005 to carry out the editorial work relating to the complete works of the lucchese composer Luigi Boccherini. The choice of Lucca as a location is not by chance: Luigi Boccherini was born in Lucca, so it is the natural site on which to launch the Italian National Edition of Luigi Boccherini's Complete Works. The Centro Studi also hosts the work of the Italian National Edition of the Opera omnia of Pietro Antonio Locatelli and the musicological series Speculum Musicae, Studies on Italian Music History and Monumenta Musica Europea.

FIMTE, the International Festival of Spanish Keyboard Music, has gained international reputation for the organization, promotion, study and publication of the rich heritage of Spanish keyboard music.

FIMTE is organizing a series of workshops intended to musicians who want to have an accomplished and up-to-date knowledge on Spanish Keyboard Music, by completing a study program in which different aspects of Spanish keyboard music will be dealt by well known scholars and performers.

This workshop focus on the performance of the sonatas-dances by Domenico Scarlatti and the eighteenth century Spanish keyboard music school. The methodological identification of these dances help us to understand its internal structure, gestural punctuation as well as other important issues -including tempo and accent- thus, giving a physical and choreographic dimension to its performance.

“Música Antigua is the featured ensemble on the final 2011-2012 program of the "A Little Friday Night Music at St. Michael's" series. “Gustav Leonhardt died on 16 January 2012. He had a profound influence on the revival of early music; one can say that he was its presiding genius.

Gustav Leonhardt had a special relationship with England, both its music and some of its musicians, and our concert will highlight this. Mark Deller will talk about Leonhardt’s musical encounters with his father, Alfred Deller – the only person that Leonhardt admitted to taking advice from.
