The Lufthansa Festival can go by in a bit of a blur, it has to be admitted. We spend a year getting ready for those eight busy days, and by the time they come around I'm already having to think hard about what to put on next year.

Welcome to the home page of our fifth annual series of sampler concerts, showcasing the richness of New York's early music performing community.  This is your chance to preview the offerings of 8 of the City's finest ensembles in three venues -- West Side, East Side, and Downtown.  The Saturday evening concert will feature an unusual demonstration of the relationship between Galileo's scientific work and his musical involvements, and will end with a gala reception.

“Spiritus Ensemble begins its third season of Bach Vespers with two cantatas chosen for the Thanksgiving season.  Cantata 192, 'Now thank we all our God' is one of Bach's shortest cantatas, three movements based on the well-known chorale melody.  It will be followed by Cantata 79, 'God the Lord is sun and shield', which begins with one of Bach's grandest choral movements, accompanied by brass, timpani, flutes, oboes, strings and organ.
