“Chalice Consort is pleased to announce Chalice Consort Early Music Conference 2012 (CCEMC), which brings together performers, scholars, and listeners of early music to examine newly-discovered and edited sacred music from the Renaissance and Baroque eras, and select the top piece from those heard at the conference will be performed at a future concert by the Chalice Consort.

This is the story of a monk who one morning left to meditate at a small nearby mountain and there listened to the beautiful trill of a bird. So beautiful was the birds song that he remained listening for 300 years or more, although to him it seemed only a moment.

The Lufthansa Festival can go by in a bit of a blur, it has to be admitted. We spend a year getting ready for those eight busy days, and by the time they come around I'm already having to think hard about what to put on next year.
