“The Froville priory, built in 1080, is one of the first settlements the benedictine monks of Cluny established in Lorraine. Its steeple dominates a small village, home of 120 inhabitants, midway between Nancy and Epinal.
The romanesque nave, inherited from the 11th century, is lengthened by a gothic choir and a magnificent cloister dating from the 13th century and of which several windows are exhibited at the Metropolitan Museum of New York.
The nave's ceiling of Carolingian origin has been restored exactly according to historical and acoustic tradition. Therefore, the Froville church provides a prestigious arena for the mightiest voices during the festival of sacred and baroque music.
The Association of the friends Frovilles cultural patrimony has shown great dedication for animation and promotion this prestigious site since 1997 through especially organisation the festival of sacred and baroque music and the priory's 3D reconstitution project.
Its ambition is revealed in a fondatory text, "Odouin's choice".

“The Warsaw Chamber Opera was founded in 1961 by Stefan Sutkowski, who has served as its Managing and Artistic Director ever since. The company’s inaugural production was G.B.Pergolesi’s La serva padrona (4 September 1961).
Since October 15th 1986 the Warsaw Chamber Opera has performed in its own Theatre at Solidarnosci Avenue 76 B. It is an ancient building from 1775 having a small lovely audience with excellent acoustic. This building is entered in the register of historical monuments of Warsaw.
At present, the Warsaw Chamber Opera company consists of 2 directors, 2 designers, 7 conductors, over 75 soloists, and 2 small-size symphony orchestras (the Warsaw Sinfonietta and the Orchestra of Warsaw Chamber Opera). It also has the period-instruments ensemble Musicae Antiquae Collegium Varsoviense, a Mime Group and the 40-strong Chamber Choir. ..
he music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart has long occupied a prominent place in the company’s repertoire. A series of successful productions encouraged the decision to mark the 200th anniversary of the composer’s death with the 1st Mozart Festival (15 June – 26 July 1991). Its programme included all of Mozart’s stage works (26 productions). The Mozart Festival has been organised on an annual basis since then. Every edition of the event (15 June – 26 July) comprises Mozart complete stage output and a selection of his chamber, symphonic, and vocal-instrumental works. The Warsaw Chamber Opera is the only company in the world to have Mozart’s entire operatic output in its permanent repertoire. Small wonder that this unprecedented achievement won the Warsaw’s company wide international recognition. ..“

“In 1999, the Festival adopted the new identity Settimane Musicali di Stresa e del Lago Maggiore and increased its programming both in terms of concerts (from 16 in 1998 to 30 in 1999) and venues. New ancillary activities were introduced: promotional partnerships with other institutions and the extension of knowledge of classical music through involvement in other forms of artistic expresssion.
The Stresa Festival offers an annual festival replete with concerts of high artistic value: internationally renowned musicians and young prospects present works spanning baroque to contemporary styles, as well as perform original productions. “Since 2005, the ensemble holds an annual festival in early August named the “Stimmwercktage” (Stimmwerck Days) on the Adlersberg near Regensburg. There, using such modern technology as laptops and projectors in place of paper manuscripts, the works of a particular renaissance composer are the subject of German language lectures by musicologists and performances by Stimmwerck.
In previous years, works by the following composers were examined:
2008 Ludwig Senfl (1486-1542/43)
2007 Anonymus
2006 Leonhard Lechner (c.1553-1606)
2005 Jacob Obrecht (1457/1458 – late July, 1505)“

“The Hurdy-gurdy Forum was started as an online forum for hurdy-gurdy enthusiasts on the 31st of May 2006 by Scott Marshall, then a newcomer to hurdy-gurdies. Although there was an existing hurdy-gurdy mailing list in the US, Scott wanted to contact and meet players from the UK. Somehow the idea of meeting up grew into the First UK Hurdy-gurdy Festival, which took place on the 20th-22nd of April 2007 in Lancaster. Ever since the Forum has been growing and thriving, and we have new subscribers every week! "It all started in 1981.
François Mayrand met Jean-Louis Sajot, well known
clarinetist of
the Orchestre National de France in Paris.
They shared an idea : there must be many amateur musicians who would
like to meet and play chamber music for a week during their summer
holidays.
So it proved to be: and after only a few years , the non-profit making
organisation Musique en Vacances hads become established actor on the
French summer course market.
Over the years, thousands of musicians have enjoyed making
music together and, at the same time, visiting the beautiful spots
chosen as venues by the Association.
Gradually these summer weeks have become truly international. Musicians
from 12 countries came to play their instrument in Loches in August
2004."

"The basic aim of the festival is to evoke the musical paradise that Eszterháza was in Haydn's time, within the original walls, with the help of period instruments and performing practice. The programmes focus mainly on the works composed during the Eszterháza period of Haydn's creative life, and among these, on compositions belonging to the most important genres (symphonies, string quartets, keyboard sonatas and trios). In addition, however, the concert programmes regularly include works by the "unknown Haydn" (baryton pieces, rarely-heard church compositions, wind divertimenti, etc.). The festival aims to provide opportunities for the world's most outstanding Haydn performers to meet here, to gain inspiration from the atmosphere and acoustics of the place, and to inspire one another through shared music-making. The majority of the performers play only compositions by Joseph Haydn, but also in exceptional cases other works closely connected, either directly or through their composers, with Haydn, Eszterháza or the family of the Esterházy princes - such as, for example, the string quartets dedicated to Haydn by Mozart, and certain pieces by Michael Haydn (the composer's younger brother), Luigi Tomasini (leader of the Eszterháza orchestra) and others. ...
