"The basic aim of the festival is to evoke the musical paradise that Eszterháza was in Haydn's time, within the original walls, with the help of period instruments and performing practice. The programmes focus mainly on the works composed during the Eszterháza period of Haydn's creative life, and among these, on compositions belonging to the most important genres (symphonies, string quartets, keyboard sonatas and trios). In addition, however, the concert programmes regularly include works by the "unknown Haydn" (baryton pieces, rarely-heard church compositions, wind divertimenti, etc.). The festival aims to provide opportunities for the world's most outstanding Haydn performers to meet here, to gain inspiration from the atmosphere and acoustics of the place, and to inspire one another through shared music-making. The majority of the performers play only compositions by Joseph Haydn, but also in exceptional cases other works closely connected, either directly or through their composers, with Haydn, Eszterháza or the family of the Esterházy princes - such as, for example, the string quartets dedicated to Haydn by Mozart, and certain pieces by Michael Haydn (the composer's younger brother), Luigi Tomasini (leader of the Eszterháza orchestra) and others. ... About Cork Choral Festival
“Founded in 1954 to be a dynamic force in developing choral music in Ireland, the Cork International Choral Festival is held annually over the five days preceding the first Monday in May. Cork welcomes choirs from across the world for a programme of gala concerts, schools concerts, national and international competition, and world-class performances as thousands of participants bring the city to life for a celebration of choral music in all its many forms.
One of Europe's premier international choral festivals, Cork is noted for its high standards, eclectic and wide-ranging programme, and the friendliness of its welcome. Festival events and performances centre around Cork's City Hall, capacity 1,000; one of the most attractive and acoustically superb venues in Ireland.
Each year some of the finest amateur international choirs are selected to compete for the prestigious Fleischmann International Trophy. The selected choirs also participate in a wide range of festival events, which include fringe concerts, taking part in our church interchange programme across Cork city and county, and informal public performances which see choirs popping up throughout Cork in new and unexpected locations throughout the duration of the festival! The presence of these choirs from throughout the world gives audiences and Irish choirs alike the unique opportunity of hearing a diverse range of concerts and repertoire performed. …”

“Sligo Festival of Baroque Music began life in 1995 as Sligo Early Music Festival, conceived and implemented by Rod Alston and the Sligo Early Music Ensemble – which had been formed five years earlier.
Now in its sixteenth year, the festival aims to present high quality performance of baroque chamber music in a notably friendly and informal context. There is always a mix of performers, some with an enviable international reputation, others at some early stage of their careers. A feature of the festival has always been an attempt to foster the development of young performers – from the local youngsters who work under an experienced and renowned performer in the Baroque Youth Orchestra, to recently formed ensembles of young professionals or third level students.
Among those who have appeared at the festival are, sopranos, Emma Kirkby, Julia Gooding and Lenneke Ruiten; tenor John Elwes; baroque violinists Elizabeth Walfisch, Maya Homburger, Claire Duff and Walter Reiter; flautists Wilbert Hazelzet, Eleanor Dawson, Julia Knight; sopranos Julia Gooding; recorder players Laoise O’Brien, Aedin Halpin and Kate Hearne; viola da Gamba players, Sarah Cunningham, Reiko Ichesi, Sarah Groser; harpsichordists Malcolm Proud, and Laurence Cummins, David Adams.”

“Skálholt Summer Concerts is Iceland’s oldest summer music festival, founded in 1975 by harpsichordist Helga Ingólfsdóttir (1942-2009) , focusing at first on baroque music but from 1978 new compositions have been premiered every year. Now the main ephasis is on contemporary religeous music and early music where both composers and performers are resident for a period of time, for the festival events in July and early August at Skálholt Cathedral, built around 1960, at the oldest bishopric in Iceland dating from 1056.
The festival has access to convenient accommodation facilities for musicians, who in most cases dwell there for a week at a time, with good rehearsal/lecture rooms attached. Rehersals also take place in the Cathedral. Recently Skálholt Cathedral recieved a generous donation from the legendary Dutch violinist Jaap Schröder, who still comes to Skálholt every year, namely his collection of scores and books on Music and other Arts, therby commencing the foundation of a Music Library.
Apart from around 40 public concerts, lectures and workshops in Skálholt over the period of 6 weeks each summer, the festival takes part in CD releases for international distribution, musical scores publications and regular recident ensembles, such as the Skálholt Quartet, also travel frequently in Iceland and abroad. Also a big part of musical compositions commissioned through the years for the festival have become standard repertoire and has been performed internationally.”

SeicentoNovecento
“For over ten years, Ensemble900 is dedicated to the Organization of the International Festival of ancient music named "Seicentonovecento" with vintage instruments of the seventeenth and eighteenth century, getting for years important awards at a national level.
This manifestation has an high historic and musicologic relevance, often using historical organs and instruments found within theinstrumental panorama of our region. The on-site festival combines the rediscovery of the palaces, churches and the ancient crafts from the 500th.
Just think about the tours during the Festival in luthery labors and visits at the factories of strings for musical instruments, the projection of movies or slides on the techniques of construction of arc musical instruments, during and after musical performances, the collaborations of important international renowned musicians such as S and M. Kuijken, M. Hugget, G. Leonhart, H.Hallein, L.Scandali and many others.“

“The Festival concerts are held in August and early September. These events offer the opportunity to hear historically informed performances of early music on either original instruments or copies. "In response to numerous requests for master-classes by its renowned guest performers, Grandezze & Meraviglie, the XIth Festival of Music from the Estense Collection, launches a series of residential Early Music courses in the ideal period location of the Corte Ospitale di Rubiera. In partnership with Rubiera City Council and the Province of Reggio Emilia, as well as with its traditional sponsors, the Festival intends to create an opportunity to reflect on performance practice in Italian music of the 17th and 18th century. This period is one of the most creative and prolific in the history of music. Between the 25th and 29th of June, students resident at the Corte Ospitale will have the chance to attend masterclasses given by Enrico Gatti (Violin), Lavinia Bertotti (Voice), Gaetano Nasillo (Cello) and Michele Barchi (Harpsichord and Chamber Music). For the modest enrolment fee of 350 Euro, they will be able to attend classes, dine and lodge at the Court. The residential course will also include public lectures and a final concert.
