(IT) Fondazione Academia Montis Regalis Onlus

“In 1994 the “Fondazione Academia Montis Regalis Onlus” in Mondovì initiated training “Corsi di Formazione Orchestrale Barocca e Classica” (courses for a baroque and classical orchestra), with the aim to offer to young talented musicians, both Italian and foreign, the possibility to do an experience, unique in its kind in Italy, in the field of 17th and 18th century repertory, expressed according to the historical criteria and performed on historical instruments.

From this enterprise was born the Academia Montis Regalis’s orchestra which has been conducted by the most important international specialists in the field of ancient music, and has taken part in a lot of important concerts and Italian and European Festivals since then.
Thanks to the numerous concerts and the flourishing discography in the last years, the orchestra has become a professional activity and not only the result of the Academia’s courses.

As these courses are always an important aim for the foundation, it has decided to continue the formative experience for the young musicians making up a second orchestra: “I Giovani della Montis Regalis”. They who obtain a scholarship take part in five cycles of lessons which are given by teachers of international fame.
The Academia has an excellent replacement of elements for its professional orchestra: in fact, at the end of the five cycles of lessons, the best of these young musicians becomes part of the professional orchestra.

The Academia Montis Regalis also performs with smaller ensembles without a director, having acquired the "Astrée" ensemble, a prestigious instrumental group that represents the chamber version of the Orchestra.

The Fondazione Academia Montis Regalis Onlus organises “Armoniche Fantasie”, an important festival of 17th and 18th century music that has come to its 11th edition in this year.”

(US) Berkshire Bach Society

“The Berkshire Bach Society is the only member-based musical organization in Berkshire County. It uniquely focuses on one composer, and creates programs with the long-range goal of exposing its membership (actual and potential) to a broad perspective on the works of J. S. Bach. This perspective is constantly expanded and reinterpreted, but always comes back to a reconsideration of what is possibly the most remarkable body of music ever generated by a single individual.“

(UK) Jane Austen Project (JaneAustenProject.org)

“We come together to discuss the life, times and works of the author, to visit places important in her life; sometimes to dress in Regency finery, and to perform her music and dances! We meet or go on expeditions every couple of months, the meetings normally in North Oxford.

The Austen family had links to the city and University of Oxford: we are engaging in research to find out more about Jane's schooling here, and the family's association with Brasenose and St John's College. The group was founded in October 2009 as Oxford's first and only Jane Austen Society for many decades (so far as we have been able to find out!).

We also have strong interest in the music of the period, and the historical aspects of domestic performance: Jane pulled together a large corpus of contemporary and traditional works, adding her own embellishments and arrangements for performing them at home.”

(US) Mississippi Academy of Ancient Music

“The Mississippi Academy of Ancient Music is devoted to the performance and appreciation of "early music", primarily music before 1800 performed on the instruments originally intended and using the practices of the time.  We sponsor the world's finest local and international artists in concert performances and educational activities in local schools.

The Academy grew out of a series of musical birthday parties held by Dr. Ernst Borinski of Tougaloo College.  When Dr. Borinski bought an evening of music for his party from John Paul  at an ACLU auction, neither realized that that the parties would expand, and lead to the formation of the Mississippi Academy of Ancient Music.  His 80th and 81st birthday parties moved to Edwards, in the home that became the Academy.

The Academy is named after the English group, the Academy of Ancient Music, in turn named after an ensemble from Handel's era, when "ancient" meant just twenty years old!  Ultimately, of course, the name was chosen because of the delightfully southern acronym which results.  And we still promote music before 1800 as well as anything 20 years old...”

(UK) Scottish Lute and Early Guitar Society

“The Society exists principally to get Scottish-based lute and early guitar players together to play to and with each other. All standards from complete beginner to professional will be encouraged to take part. This is a ‘safe place’ to try out that new piece you have been working on, ask questions, share info, etc.

Future meetings will include presentations, workshops and concerts. But the main aim is to get players together.

We meet at St Cecilia’s Hall, Edinburgh, itself a wonderful museum dedicated to lutes, guitars and keyboards.“

“Association Ensemble 900 is a well established activity around the regional, interregional and national culture.

In fact, it is often involved on the organization of major events, in favour of the cultural heritage of our region and the dissemination of it in a national field.

Ensemble900 for the first time in Abruzzo, held a luthery workshop taking the important international school "Antonio Stradivari" of Cremona in the region. Some years after led another event: two first absolute musical executions of the famous Roman composer Sylvano Bussotti with a live record at the Teatro Comunale in Atri.
Ensemble' 900 combines the live musical events with a musical research and protection: not only a concert but an interactive relationship with the public.

For over ten years, Ensemble900  is dedicated to the Organization of the International Festival of ancient music "Seicentonovecento" with vintage instruments of the seventeenth and eighteenth century, with important awards at a national level:

  • Medal from the Italian President of the Republic C.A. Ciampi on 12th of May 2005;
