"Curiously, in the rediscovery of historical instruments made these last 30 years, the Renaissance cylindrical flute has been singularly overlooked in interpretations "old" or used contraflow (see pages court and Monteverdi). Only a few musicologists, such Raymond Meylan, Howard Mayer Brown and Anne Smith, sought to bring it justice. As the English organologue Anthony Baines explains it is without doubt an excessive passion for the recorder of the XVI and XVII centuries repertoire which is responsible for this.
That's what pushed me, after studying baroque flute at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, to become even more passionate for these instruments kept mainly in the Italian collections at the Museum of instrumental Kunsthistorisches Museum Brussels and Vienna.
After I developed prototypes copies of originals, it was enough to regain their repertoire. Here are some fruits of my research. " (Google translation) Visit website for more information.
