“The Italian Society of Musicology was formed in 1964 with the aim of enhancing the study of musicology and enhance the development and dissemination of musical culture. By supporting musicological research SIdM promotes research, organizes congresses and other publishing endeavours.
SIdM publishes two journals, "Journal of Musicology Italian (monthly) and 'Italian Musical Sources (annual), a Newsletter (monthly) along with various series of musicology texts and music.
SIdM intervenes in the fields of musical heritage and music lessons and musicology; promotes contacts between scholars and ensures the dissemination of Italian musicology. Members of SIdM share its goals: the association is in fact directed not only to scholars and experts, but also to scholars and enthusiasts who wish to deepen their knowledge in music and musicology.” (Google Translate)
