(DE) Sabrina Frey, Recorder

“The young artist Sabrina Frey belongs to the outstanding recorder virtuosos of her generation. Born in Switzerland she completed her musical studies at the Vienna University for Music and Performing Arts, her concert and soloist diplomas at the University of Music Freiburg i. Br. and in the master class of Kees Boeke at the University of Music Zurich with honors. She has received numerous awards such as the Festa Special Award at the Osaka Chamber Music Competition, Japan, the German Erlanger Prize for the best interpretation of contemporary music, awards from the German Musikleben Foundation and First Prize from the Orpheus Konzerte in Switzerland.

Sabrina Frey has performed in concert and on tour at home and abroad. She has enthused audiences in more intimate surroundings as well as in large concert halls, enchanting and surprising with her natural elegance, virtuosity, vitality and mastery of the countless sides of her often unheralded instrument.

Sabrina Frey has performed with musicians such as Maurice Steger, Naoki Kitaya, Alexander Weimann, Fiorenza de Donatis, Mauro Valli, Marco Frezzato, Vital Julian Frey and Martin Müller. As soloist she has played with the Zurich Chamber Orchestra, with leading members of some of Europe's best baroque orchestras (e.g. "I Barrochisti", "Europa Galante", "Accademia Bizzantina" "Giardino Armonico", and the "Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra"), as well as with eminent conductors such as Marcus Creed, Helmuth Rilling and Muhai Tang. She has been repeatedly recorded on television and radio and has recently published her first CD with the label Novalis: Telemann's Twelve Fantasias. …”
