"The aims of the KVNM are described as follows in Article 3 of its articles of association:
a. to carry out the scholarly study of Dutch music and its history, and all matters related;
b. to promote the advancement of musicology in the broadest sense.
Article 4 describes the means of achieving these objectives:
a. by issuing its own publications and promoting publications of others, insofar as these publications bear a relationship with Dutch music and its history;
b. by publishing one or more scholarly journals or yearbooks;
c. by organising lectures, recitals and concerts;
d. by using all other legal means available to promote its aims.
The KVNM publishes a wide range of studies and music editions in the field of Dutch music and its history. Although the publications are scholarly in nature, practitioners find them invaluable as well. They have attracted international acclaim and are used around the world. The KVNM also helps new authors to get started. The Focus series was set up especially to generate publishing opportunities for this group. " Visit website for more information. (ed.)
