Instruction for early music enthusiasts and modern instrumentalists and singers with an interest in Baroque and Renaissance music. All baroque intruments welcome !
Chamber music, baroque orchestra, vocal ensemble, viola da gamba consorts, with passionated teachers.

“Música Antigua is the featured ensemble on the final 2011-2012 program of the "A Little Friday Night Music at St. Michael's" series. Música Antigua will perform the early music in which the ensemble specializes on the first half of the program. The second half of the program will feature the individual musicians performing later works on their respective modern instruments including Hovey Corbin, percussion; Dennis Davies-Wilson, bassoon; Ruth Helgeson, Theremin; David McGuire, tenor and composer; Art Sheinberg, cello; and Colleen Sheinberg, piano.”

“Baroque Opera Live will be holding its Spring concert: Starting at 6.00 pm On Sunday1st April 2012 At Holy Trinity Church, Trinity Street, Hastings The concert will last for approximately one hour, followed by refreshments and finger food. Admission is free, with a collection at the end for those who enjoyed the concert and would like to help fund our productions.

“Gustav Leonhardt died on 16 January 2012. He had a profound influence on the revival of early music; one can say that he was its presiding genius.
Gustav Leonhardt had a special relationship with England, both its music and some of its musicians, and our concert will highlight this. Mark Deller will talk about Leonhardt’s musical encounters with his father, Alfred Deller – the only person that Leonhardt admitted to taking advice from.

It is also aimed at all beginners in dance, particularly baroque and classical musicians eager to perfect their knowledge of various dance forms of the late seventeenth and early eighteenth centuries.”

Also, a reminder that booking is open for our Baroque dance summer school. The whole course is ten days, but many people come for just a few days, with popular options being the first weekend or the last three-day bank holiday weekend. Lower fees are available to those who pay a deposit before the end of April.”
