“In short, not too heavy steps that are known to a choreographer as the Jean-Baptiste Lully Gigue from opera Roland (1685). The opera, which tells the adventures of Roland, the paladin of Charlemagne, was played until 1750 in many European countries, and, accordingly, also known was the melody of the Gigue à deux.

As with all our workshops, you will need to bring a partner. Teacher:  Alexander Fischer”

“Toronto (Canada) … Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra and Chamber Choir is thrilled to announce the launch of its own new record label called Tafelmusik Media. The announcement was made following a performance of Handel’s Hercules in celebration of Jeanne Lamon’s 30th anniversary as Music Director. Tafelmusik is recognized as “one of the world’s top baroque orchestras” (Gramophone), and the launch of its own label is an international initiative that will sow seeds for the organization’s future growth in recording and broadcasting, as well as build audiences around the world in the years to come.

Beethoven - Sonata in D, Op. 102, No. 2
Brahms - Sonata in E minor, Op. 38

Performed in the style of their composers, the performances will include a rare J.B Streicher fortepiano (1851) and a Sebastien-Philippe Bernardel violoncello (1849). A masterclass will follow the April 22nd performance.
